Lamilanesa and Cinzia Macchi: a project to celebrate women's freedom

On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Cinzia Macchi, founder of the Italian brand lamilanesa, launches a symbolic and concrete initiative to raise public awareness on one of the most urgent issues of our time.

The idea was born during a trip to Morocco, when Cinzia Macchi reflected on the value of freedom and the profound meaning of the bonds that women build throughout their lives. From this inspiration, the project was born: the creation of shoelaces with the word “FREEDOM”, a universal symbol of freedom and self-determination. The laces represent a simple but highly symbolic element. A shoelace can be a bond or a constraint, but it also has the power to transform. Cinzia Macchi invites women to reflect on their ability to choose: to dissolve toxic bonds, unite in solidarity or transform their bonds into solid and positive relationships.

"We women are bonds," explains Cinzia Macchi. "But we have the power to decide: we can untie what oppresses us or tighten solid knots, which make us stronger. This project is not just a symbol, but a concrete commitment to support those who fight for their freedom."

The laces, with the writing "FREEDOM", will become a symbolic accessory to raise public awareness. Each lace tells a story of hope and change, a universal invitation to free oneself from all forms of oppression.

A portion of the proceeds from the initiative will be donated to the Fare X Bene Onlus Association, which has been active for years in supporting victims of violence and preventing gender-based violence. The project will be officially presented on November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, with the support of partners and ambassadors of the brand. With this initiative, lamilanesa reaffirms its commitment not only to ethical and sustainable fashion, but also to promoting lasting social change.
